Disney Cruise Line ships by size

Disney’s ships come in four sizes. Magic and Wonder are the original, smaller ships. Dream and Fantasy are larger. The three Wish-class ships are the newest in the Americas, and Disney Adventure is by far the largest, built for Singapore.

More are on the way. Disney Believe, the next Wish-class ship, is due in late 2027. A Wish-class ship for Japan, owned and run by Oriental Land Co., is due to start sailing from Tokyo in 2029, and three smaller ships of a new class follow in 2029 and 2030, which would take the fleet to 13 by the end of 2030.

The Disney cruise 2026 schedule by season

• Year-round: the Bahamas and the Caribbean. Most Disney cruises sail from Florida (Port Canaveral and Fort Lauderdale), with a day at Castaway Cay or Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, Disney’s two Bahamas destinations. Disney Magic also sails from Galveston in the winter of 2026–27 and 2027–28, and some Southern Caribbean sailings leave from San Juan.
• Summer: Alaska. Disney Magic and Disney Wonder both sail seven-night Alaska cruises from Vancouver in 2026. We cover this in a separate Disney Alaska cruise page.
• Summer: Europe, on one ship. Disney Dream sails the Mediterranean and Northern Europe in summer 2026; Disney Wish takes the European season in summer 2027.
• Fall and winter: Mexico and the Pacific coast, from San Diego, on Disney Magic and Disney Wonder in fall 2026 and on Disney Wonder in fall 2027.
• New York from fall 2027: Disney Wish arrives in New York in late September 2027 for four- to seven-night cruises to Bermuda, Canada and New England. There are no New York sailings in the fall 2026 to spring 2027 schedule. See our New York cruise port guide.
• Asia: Disney Adventure sails from Singapore year-round. Disney has ended its seasons in Australia and New Zealand; the last ran from late 2025 to early 2026, and there is no 2026–27 season.

What’s included and what’s extra

Included in the fare: meals in the main dining rooms, which rotate each night while your servers move with you; quick-service food and the buffet; soft drinks, coffee and tea at drink stations; kids’ clubs; the stage shows; first-run movies; and character meet-and-greets.

Disney cruise ship charges (extra): gratuities, alcohol, the adults-only restaurants (such as Palo), Wi-Fi, spa treatments, shore excursions, photos and some kids’ experiences such as the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. Gratuities for your stateroom and dining teams are added to your ship account automatically each day unless you prepay them, and you can adjust them at Guest Services; bar, adult dining and spa bills carry their own 18% gratuity. Room service is still available, and many items are included, but Disney now says fees may apply for certain items and deliveries. Everything goes on your ship account, which is settled at the end of the cruise.

Concierge: a separate class of staterooms and suites comes with a private lounge (with complimentary food, soft drinks and cocktails at set times), a private sun deck, priority check-in and boarding, a concierge team, and a booking window for activities and dining that opens earlier than for other guests. It is expensive, but it is the only way to get a quiet space on a busy family ship.

Fish extenders, door magnets and other Disney cruise traditions

Two fan traditions come up in almost every Disney cruise line blog. A fish extender is a hanging organizer placed by your cabin’s fish-shaped nameplate, used for small gift exchanges between families who arrange them in advance. Door magnets are the usual way to decorate: cabin doors are metal, and Disney does not allow anything that damages them. Disney’s rules allow tasteful magnetic signs but ban tape and other adhesives and over-the-door hanging organizers, and it charges a fee for door damage. Magnets won’t stick to the wooden Concierge doors on Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy. Neither tradition is required, and many families skip both.

Disney cruise deals and sailings

Disney rarely discounts deeply. The best Disney cruise discounts usually come from booking early, sailing outside school holidays, or taking an inside or oceanview room on an older ship.

Disney cruise 2026 FAQ

What is the best Disney cruise ship?

For most families, one of the three Wish-class ships: Wish, Treasure or Destiny. They are the newest in the Americas and have the most current kids’ spaces and restaurants. Dream and Fantasy are the value picks, with nearly as much to do.

Does Disney Cruise Line sail from Singapore?

Yes. Disney Adventure, the line’s largest ship, has sailed from Singapore since March 2026. Disney agreed with the Singapore Tourism Board to base a ship there exclusively for at least five years.

What are the extra charges on a Disney cruise?

Gratuities, alcohol, the adults-only restaurants, Wi-Fi, spa, shore excursions and photos, plus fees on some room service items and deliveries. Food in the main venues and soft drinks at the drink stations are included.

What kind of rooms does Disney Cruise Line have?

Inside, oceanview, verandah and concierge rooms. Many rooms have a split bathroom: one room with a sink and toilet, the other with a sink and a tub with shower, so two people can get ready at once. Disney’s deck-plan pages list a split bath in the Deluxe Oceanview with Verandah rooms on Magic, Wonder, Dream and Fantasy; on the Wish-class ships only select rooms have one, so check the layout of the room you book. Most inside rooms on Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy have a “magical porthole,” a round screen showing a live camera view from outside.

How big are Disney cruise ships?

At full capacity (every berth filled), from about 2,700 guests on Magic and Wonder, to about 4,000 on the Dream and Wish classes, to about 6,700 on Disney Adventure. At double occupancy the figures are roughly 1,750, 2,500 and 4,200.
