Disney cruise 2027: the schedule, the new ship and how to pick a sailing

What’s new for Disney in 2027

Three changes set 2027 apart from 2026.

Disney Wish goes to Europe, then New York. Disney Wish crosses the Atlantic from Port Canaveral in late April 2027 for its first European season, sailing from Barcelona, Civitavecchia (Rome) and Southampton until September. New ports include Zadar in Croatia, Trieste near Venice and Hellesylt in Norway. In late September 2027 it arrives in New York for four- to seven-night cruises to Bermuda, New England and Canada. That’s the first time a Wish-class ship has sailed from New York, and it replaces Disney Dream in Europe (Dream had the 2026 season).

A new ship: Disney Believe. The fourth Wish-class ship is being built at Meyer Werft in Germany and is due in late 2027, carrying up to about 4,000 guests. Its theme draws on Encanto, Frozen, Moana, The Little Mermaid and Snow White. As of September 2026, Disney hasn’t announced its home port, first sailing date or when booking opens; the August 2026 itinerary release left it out.

Disney cruise 2027 schedule by region

• Bahamas and Caribbean, all year. Most 2027 sailings leave Port Canaveral or Fort Lauderdale, with a day at Disney Castaway Cay or Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point. Some Southern and Eastern Caribbean cruises leave from San Juan on Disney Wish and Disney Fantasy later in the year. See our Caribbean cruise guide.
• Alaska, May to September. Disney Magic and Disney Wonder sail round trips from Vancouver, mostly for seven nights, with one six-night and one eight-night Magic sailing in July. Details in our Disney Alaska cruise guide.
• Europe, April to September. Disney Wish, three- to ten-night cruises from Barcelona, Civitavecchia and Southampton. See our European cruise guide.

How to pick a 2027 Disney sailing

Start with the ship, not the port. For a first Disney cruise, pick a Wish-class ship (Wish, Treasure or Destiny): they have the newest kids’ spaces and restaurants. Dream and Fantasy are the value picks with nearly as much to do. Magic and Wonder are the smallest and oldest; book them for the itinerary, Alaska or the West Coast, rather than for the ship.

Match the length to your kids. Three- and four-night Bahamas trips suit a first cruise with young children. Seven nights on Treasure or in Alaska suits families who already know they like cruising.

Avoid peak weeks if you can. Spring break, summer and the Christmas and New Year weeks cost the most. Dates outside school holidays usually cost less, especially on the short Bahamas trips. Our family cruise picks compare Disney with cheaper family lines.

Booking windows for 2027

Disney opens each batch of sailings with an early window for Castaway Club (past guest) members and then general booking about a week later.

• Summer 2027 (May to September): Castaway Club members from February 16, 2026; general booking from February 23, 2026.
• Fall 2027 and early 2028: select Castaway Club members from August 31, 2026; general booking from September 8, 2026.

So the whole of 2027 is bookable now. Disney sets fares by demand and rarely discounts deeply, so the best prices usually go to people who book early and pick shoulder-season dates. Disney’s US terms say a deposit is due at booking, and both the deposit amount and the final-payment date are set when you book; they vary with cruise length and room type (suites and Concierge are treated separately), so check the date in your booking summary.

What is the new Disney cruise ship in 2027?
