The Disney Fantasy was built by Meyer Werft in Papenburg, Germany, and entered service on March 31, 2012, a year after its sister, the Disney Dream. It holds about 2,500 guests at double occupancy and up to about 4,000 with every berth filled. After a summer 2025 season in Europe from Southampton, it went into dry dock at Damen Shipyard in Brest, France, and returned to service on November 3, 2025. The work added a new Concierge tower suite, refreshed the poolside food offering and upgraded the spa and the Concierge lounge.

The Fantasy has 18 decks in all, 14 of them for guests. The rotational restaurants are low in the ship: Enchanted Garden on deck 2, and Royal Court and Animator’s Palate on deck 3. The adults-only Palo and Remy sit at the back of deck 12. The pools, AquaDuck and buffet are on the top decks, and cabins fill most of the decks in between. Many inside rooms on the Fantasy and Dream have a “magical porthole,” a round screen showing a live view from outside.

Who it suits

Families on a budget by Disney standards. The Fantasy has full kids’ clubs and a water coaster, and it usually undercuts the Wish class for the same trip length.

Families who want a longer trip. The ten-night Southern Caribbean sailings are one of the few ways to spend more than a week on a Disney ship from Florida.

Standout features

• AquaDuck: a water coaster that runs around the top decks and out over the side of the ship.
• Rotational dining across Enchanted Garden, Animator’s Palate and Royal Court, with your servers moving with you.
• Adults-only restaurants: Palo and Remy. Some specialty restaurants carry a charge, so check when you book.
• Horn: the ship’s horns can play songs from Disney films and parks, which you’ll hear on sailaway.

Cabins to pick, cabins to avoid

Pick:

• Midship verandah rooms with staterooms above and below. They are the quietest and move the least.
• Inside rooms with a magical porthole if you want an inside price without a windowless room.

Avoid or think twice:

• Deck 10, which DCL Guide notes is directly under the pool deck, where deck chairs are moved early in the morning.
• Deck 5 aft, above the adults-only nightlife area, where bass can carry late into the night.
• Navigator’s Verandah rooms with heavy obstructions: 5024, 5524, 6178, 6678, 7182, 7680, 8176 and 8674 have beams, lifeboat rigging or overhangs in the view, according to two independent cabin guides (DCL Guide and CruiseMapper). Check the view before you book any Navigator’s Verandah.

Disney Fantasy restaurants and activities

The main rotation covers Enchanted Garden, Animator’s Palate and Royal Court. Palo (Italian) and Remy (French) are adults-only; some specialty restaurants carry a charge, and both book up early on short sailings. Quick-service food, the buffet and soft drinks at the drink stations are included, while alcohol, Wi-Fi, gratuities and the spa are extra, as across the Disney fleet.

Disney Fantasy cruise itinerary 2026–2027

• Fall 2026 to spring 2027: Port Canaveral. Three-, four- and five-night Bahamas cruises with Castaway Cay, Disney Lookout Cay and Nassau.
• Summer 2027: Port Canaveral. Four- and five-night Bahamas and Caribbean cruises, plus ten-night Southern Caribbean sailings, with a Pixar Day at Sea on some trips.
• Fall 2027 to spring 2028: Bahamas and Caribbean sailings of up to seven nights from Port Canaveral and Fort Lauderdale, plus an eight-night Bermuda cruise from Fort Lauderdale. Listings also show a seven-night Southern Caribbean sailing from San Juan in December 2027.

Sister ships

The Fantasy’s only sister is the Disney Dream (2011). The two share a layout and most restaurants, and the Dream usually runs shorter Bahamas trips.
