Enchanted Princess cruise ship: where it sails and who it suits

Enchanted Princess is a 2020 Royal-class ship of about 3,660 guests that splits 2026–2027 between two seas: 10- and 14-night Caribbean cruises from Fort Lauderdale in winter, then 7- to 42-day Mediterranean voyages from Rome, Trieste and Athens from May to November 2027. Book it for a long, port-heavy Mediterranean trip on a modern ship.

Book it if

  • You want a 7- or 14-day Mediterranean cruise from Civitavecchia (Rome) in summer 2027.
  • You want the 14-day eclipse cruise from Rome that is at sea for the total solar eclipse of August 2, 2027.
  • You want a 10-night Eastern Caribbean cruise from Fort Lauderdale in winter 2026–27 on a newer ship.

Skip it if

  • You want a 3- to 5-night getaway; it doesn't sail any in 2026–2027.
  • Your kids want water slides, go-karts or other big-ship rides.
  • You want Alaska or a US West Coast departure.

Enchanted Princess is the fifth Royal-class ship for Princess Cruises. Fincantieri built it at Monfalcone in Italy, and it was handed over in Trieste on September 30, 2020; it was Fincantieri’s 100th cruise ship. The pandemic delayed its debut, so its first US cruise left Fort Lauderdale on November 10, 2021. It is about 1,083 feet long, with 19 decks, 1,830 guest cabins and about 1,346 crew.

Where does Enchanted Princess sail in 2026–2027?

Enchanted Princess spends winter 2026–27 on Caribbean cruises from Fort Lauderdale, mostly 10-night Eastern Caribbean trips from December to early April. In mid-April 2027 it crosses to Europe and sails the Mediterranean from Rome (Civitavecchia), Trieste and Athens until November, on trips of 7 to 42 days.

  • November 2026: across the Atlantic. A 16-night voyage from Civitavecchia (Rome) brings it to Fort Lauderdale for the winter. Our transatlantic and repositioning cruise guide explains these one-way trips.
  • December 2026 to April 2027: Caribbean from Fort Lauderdale. A 14-night Southern Caribbean cruise on December 3, then 10-night Eastern Caribbean cruises, including the Christmas and New Year departures. See our Caribbean cruise guide.
  • April 2027: back to Europe. A 15-night crossing from Fort Lauderdale on April 16, which can be combined with the first Mediterranean trips into voyages of up to 46 nights.
  • May to November 2027: the Mediterranean. 7- and 14-day round trips from Civitavecchia in high summer, 9- to 12-day trips from Trieste (for Venice) and Athens, and long combinations of up to 42 days. It visits Italy, Greece, Croatia, Turkey and more. Our Mediterranean cruise guide, Italy cruise guide and Greece cruise guide compare it with other lines.
  • July 24, 2027: the eclipse cruise. A 14-day round trip from Civitavecchia that is at sea for the total solar eclipse of August 2, 2027. It is on our July 2027 cruises list.
  • Winter 2027–28 and 2028: the same pattern again, with 9- to 11-night Southern Caribbean cruises from Fort Lauderdale from December 2027, and the Mediterranean from April 2028, adding Barcelona and Istanbul departures, according to the sailings already on sale.

Who it suits

Mediterranean first-timers. From mid-June to July 2027 it has a 7-day trip from Rome almost every week, with 14-day options that cover more of Italy, Greece and Croatia. That makes it one of the easiest big ships to fit around a European vacation.

Couples and older travelers who like long voyages, sea days, a choice of restaurants, and adults-only space in The Sanctuary.

Families with school-age kids who are happy with kids’ clubs and pools rather than rides. It has clubs for ages 3 to 7, 8 to 12 and 13 to 17.

Who should look elsewhere: anyone who wants a short cruise or a US West Coast or Alaska departure. For the same kind of ship on those routes, see Discovery Princess. For more of Europe, our Europe cruise guide covers the other lines.

What is inside Enchanted Princess?

Enchanted Princess has four pools, including the Retreat Pool and an aft WakeView Pool, eight hot tubs, the adults-only Sanctuary, and the Lotus Spa with The Enclave thermal suite. It also has two Sky Suites, which Princess says have the largest balconies at sea, each with a private hot tub.

  • The Piazza: the Italian-style atrium, with the International Café, Bellini’s Bar and Crooners nearby.
  • Princess Theater, Princess Live! Café and Vista Lounge for shows and talks.
  • SeaWalk: a glass-floored walkway that juts out over the side of the ship.
  • Movies Under the Stars: the big poolside screen.
  • The Greens: a putting course, plus a jogging track and Princess Sports Central.
  • Churchill’s Cigar Bar, the SeaView Bar and a casino.

Cabins to pick, cabins to avoid

Of its 1,830 cabins, 1,064 have balconies at the standard and deluxe level, 374 are mini-suites with balconies, 42 are suites with balconies and 340 are inside cabins. There are 38 accessible cabins and 100 connecting cabins.

Pick:

  • Sky Suites if the budget allows: two suites with very large balconies that look over the pool deck and the sea.
  • Aft-facing balconies and penthouse suites for wake views and less wind.
  • Mini-suites and balconies with extra space, such as M407 to M410 and M422 and M423, which have larger balconies than most.
  • Midship cabins on a lower deck if you get seasick; they move least.

Avoid or think twice:

  • Forward balconies L101 to L108 and M101 to M108, which are too windy to use at sea.
  • L109, L110, L114 and L115, and most Deck 8 balconies, where the bridge or lifeboats block part of the view.
  • Cabins under the pool deck, such as S114 to S221 and M310 to M421, where loungers are moved early.
  • Deck 8 cabins above the evening venues and theater (E123 to E227) if you go to bed early.
  • High forward cabins (S101 to S215, L101 to L129) if you get seasick.
  • Cabins where a fold-down bed blocks the balcony door. Families needing a third or fourth berth should check the deck plan.

Dining and activities

Enchanted Princess has three main dining rooms, Amalfi, Capri and Santorini, plus the World Fresh Marketplace buffet, The Pastry Shop, the International Café, the Salty Dog Grill, Slice Pizzeria, Swirls ice cream and gelato. It also has Sabatini’s Trattoria, Crown Grill, Bistro Sur La Mer, the Ocean Terrace Seafood Bar and the Chef’s Table Lumiere; some specialty restaurants carry a charge.

Kids’ clubs are The Treehouse (ages 3 to 7), The Lodge (8 to 12) and The Beach House (13 to 17). Drinks, Wi-Fi and gratuities are extra unless you buy a Princess Plus or Premier package; our Princess line guide explains what each covers.

Sister ships

Enchanted Princess is one of six Royal-class ships: Royal Princess (2013), Regal Princess (2014), Majestic Princess (2017), Sky Princess (2019), Enchanted (2020) and Discovery Princess (2022). Sky Princess is the closest match: it introduced the Sky Suites and runs the other 2027 eclipse cruise, from Southampton.
