Sky Princess was built by Fincantieri at Monfalcone, Italy, and entered service in October 2019. It is the fourth of six Royal-class ships in the Princess Cruises fleet and a slightly updated version of the design of Royal and Regal Princess, with 1,830 cabins, well over half of them with a private balcony. Princess lists it at 141,000 gross tons; other published figures run to about 145,000.

Who it suits

Americans flying to London who want a round-trip cruise from Southampton without a second flight. Summer 2026 is its sixth season based there.

Couples and retirees who want longer trips: Southampton sailings run from 7 days to about a month.

Caribbean cruisers in winter who want a modern ship on shorter Eastern Caribbean routes.

Standout features

• Sky Suites: two suites at the top of the ship, each about 1,800 to 1,870 square feet including a very large private balcony, sleeping up to five with two bathrooms.
• The Enclave: the largest thermal suite Princess has built, in the Lotus Spa, with a hydrotherapy pool, steam rooms and heated loungers.
• The Piazza: the central atrium and social hub of the ship.
• Movies Under the Stars, the poolside outdoor screen, and The Sanctuary, an adults-only retreat.

Cabins to pick, cabins to avoid

Cabin types run from interiors and deluxe oceanviews to balconies, mini-suites, Reserve Collection mini-suites, suites and the Sky Suites.

Pick:

• Sky Suites on the top deck if you want the biggest private outdoor space on the ship.
• Aft Premium Deluxe Balconies and Penthouse Suites for larger balconies with wake views and less wind.
• Midship balconies and mini-suites for less motion, useful in the North Sea and the Bay of Biscay.

Avoid or think twice:

• Forward cabins on high decks if you get seasick; forward-facing balconies can be too windy to use at sea.
• Balconies whose views are partly blocked by lifeboats; check the deck plan.
• Cabins directly under the pool deck, where morning furniture noise carries, and cabins over the theater.
• Cabins next to guest laundry rooms.
• Large lower balconies that stick out and can be seen from the cabins above.
• Cabins for three or four where the extra beds block the balcony door once they are pulled out.

Dining and activities

Included: the main dining rooms, the World Fresh Marketplace buffet, International Café, Slice Pizzeria, The Salty Dog Grill, Swirls ice cream and afternoon tea. Extra charge: Crown Grill (steakhouse), Sabatini’s Italian Trattoria, The Catch by Rudi (seafood), Alfredo’s Pizzeria and Chef’s Table Lumiere.

Where Sky Princess sails in 2026–2027

• Summer 2026: Europe from Southampton (season now ending). Round trips of 7 to 28 nights to Northern Europe, the Canary Islands and the Mediterranean.
• Winter 2026–27: the Caribbean from Port Canaveral. After a final Europe sailing from Southampton in early November, it has 8- and 9-night Eastern Caribbean sailings on sale from Port Canaveral.
• Summer 2027: Southampton again, with 7- to 31-day voyages, including the month-long Mediterranean Marvel to Spain, France, Italy, Turkey, Greece and Malta, and Northern Europe trips.
• Winter 2027–28: the Caribbean, as one of nine Princess ships in the region, with 7-night Eastern Caribbean sailings on sale from Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades).
