Meyer Werft in Papenburg, Germany, built Celebrity Reflection, and it entered service in October 2012 as the fifth and last Solstice-class ship. It is the largest of the class, with a little more tonnage and about 150 to 200 more guests than its sisters. It had a general refresh in October 2022, and Celebrity has announced a larger modernization for March 2027.

Who it suits

Couples and friends on a long weekend. Reflection’s 3- and 4-night trips from Fort Lauderdale are among the few short cruises on a premium ship. They suit a birthday or anniversary trip without the party atmosphere of mainstream short cruises. Compare the options in our 3- to 5-night cruise guide.

Adults who want a calm week. The 6- to 9-night sailings go further south, and the ship’s size and style suit travelers who want good food and a quiet pool more than attractions.

• The Lawn Club: half an acre of real grass on the top deck, with outdoor games and the Lawn Club Grill.
• The Retreat: the suite-only area, with private dining and a lounge open around the clock for suite guests.
• The March 2027 makeover: Celebrity is adding 13 new spaces. They include the Celebrity Pool Club with Orange Peel Bar & Grille and Tacos del Sol, a redesigned Grand Plaza and Martini Bar, Trattoria Rossa, Fine Cut Steakhouse, the Mediterranean restaurant Bora, a reimagined Sunset Park and Sunset Bar, and an upgraded Retreat sundeck and lounge.

Cabins to pick, cabins to avoid

Pick:

• Midship veranda or Concierge Class cabins on Decks 8 and 9, suggested by CruiseBooking.com for their balance of quiet and stability.
• Midship ocean-view or inside cabins on Decks 7 to 9 if you’re on a budget.
• Aft-facing balconies for a wake view.

Avoid or think twice:

• Deck 12, under the pool deck, where crew set up and move deck chairs early.
• Deck 6 forward and midship, above the main theater, if you nap in the afternoon or sleep early (rehearsals and sound checks).
• Balcony categories 2C and 2D, where lifeboats and davits partly or fully block the view, especially midship on Deck 6.
• Forward cabins on Decks 10 to 12 if you’re prone to seasickness, low aft cabins near the engines, and cabins next to lifts and stairways.

The March 2027 refit reworks the pool deck and other public areas, so check what sits above your cabin on the current deck plan when you book.

Dining and activities

Complimentary dining includes the main dining room and the buffet. Specialty dining costs extra: Celebrity currently lists the Lawn Club Grill, Le Petit Chef and the Chef’s Table by Daniel Boulud for Reflection, and suite guests have The Retreat’s private restaurant. From March 2027, the specialty line-up changes, with Fine Cut Steakhouse, Trattoria Rossa and Bora added.

Evenings center on theater shows, live music and the bars. Days at sea are for the pool, the spa and the Lawn Club.

Celebrity Reflection sails from Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida, year-round:

• 3- and 4-night cruises to Key West and the Bahamas, with calls such as Perfect Day at CocoCay, Bimini and Nassau.
• 6- to 9-night cruises to the Caribbean, from Grand Cayman and Mexico to Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçao, including a 7-night Western Caribbean holiday sailing.
