LGBTQ cruises: gay and lesbian cruises for 2026 and 2027
For lesbian cruises, book Olivia, which charters ships for lesbians and LGBTQ+ women. For an all-gay cruise, Atlantis Events charters the biggest ships, and VACAYA charters ships for the whole LGBT+ community and straight allies. If you would rather pick any week of the year, Virgin Voyages is the regular line to start with: adults only, open to everyone, with drag shows on its ordinary sailings.
Book it if
- You want a ship where the entertainment, parties and crowd are planned around LGBTQ guests.
- You can book a year or more ahead. Charters sell out early.
- You want an adults-only ship without waiting for a charter date: Virgin Voyages takes guests 18 and over on every sailing.
Skip it if
- You want a quiet, half-empty ship. Charters fill every cabin: Olivia lists its 2027 Caribbean trip at the ship's full capacity.
- You are traveling with children. Virgin Voyages and VACAYA are for adults only.
- A changed itinerary would spoil the trip. One 2026 charter lost three port calls because of who was aboard.
How we picked
LGBTQ cruises come in two kinds, and they are booked in different places.
- Full-ship charters. A travel company rents an entire ship from a cruise line, sets its own prices and brings its own entertainment. Everyone aboard booked the same trip. Olivia, Atlantis Events and VACAYA work this way, and you book with them, not with the cruise line.
- Regular sailings. Any cruise on a line that welcomes LGBTQ guests. You get every date and every route the line sells, and the passengers are a mix.
We list the charter companies by who they are for, using the trips and dates each one publishes. We don’t show prices for charters, because the charter company sets them and we don’t track them. The from-price on this page is for regular Virgin Voyages sailings and shows the date it was checked. Ship and line grades follow how we rate cruises.
Gay and lesbian cruise companies for 2026 and 2027
- OliviaCalls itself the vacation company for lesbians and LGBTQ+ women and has run trips for over 35 years. Its 2027 list has a Caribbean cruise, a Barcelona to Lisbon cruise, a Greek Isles cruise that calls at Lesbos, and riverboat trips.
- Atlantis EventsHas hosted all-gay vacations for over 35 years and says it carries more than 20,000 guests a year. It charters the largest ships on this page, from Royal Caribbean, Virgin Voyages, Holland America and Oceania.
- VACAYAAn adults-only company that charters whole ships and resorts for, in its words, the entire community and their straight ally friends. Its 2027 list runs from a big-ship Caribbean week to Antarctica.
Lesbian cruises: Olivia in 2026 and 2027
Olivia is the name to know for lesbian cruises. It describes its trips as takeovers for lesbians and LGBTQ+ women, on cruise ships, riverboats, luxury ships and at resorts.
- XOXO Caribbean Cruise, February 13 to 20, 2027. Seven nights on Holland America’s Eurodam, a round trip from Fort Lauderdale to Half Moon Cay, Frederiksted on St. Croix, San Juan and Grand Turk, with two days at sea. Olivia lists 2,100 guests, which is the ship’s full capacity.
- Later in 2027. A Barcelona to Lisbon luxury cruise in June and a Greek Isles cruise with Lesbos in October. Our Greek islands cruise guide covers the season and the ports.
- Riverboats. A Christmas markets cruise in December 2026 and a Danube trip through the Balkans in April 2027.
Olivia’s home page did not name the ships for the later 2027 cruises when we checked in October 2026. Each trip has its own page with the ship, cabins and fares.
Gay cruises in 2026 and 2027: the Atlantis calendar
Atlantis Events lists these all-gay cruises (checked October 2026). The guest numbers are the company’s own.
- San Diego to Mexico, November 7 to 14, 2026. Holland America’s Koningsdam, 2,500 guests, to Puerto Vallarta, Cabo San Lucas and Mazatlan. Our San Diego cruise port guide covers the terminal.
- Thanksgiving Caribbean, November 22 to 29, 2026. Virgin Voyages’ Resilient Lady from Miami to Puerto Plata, San Juan and Virgin’s private beach club.
- Caribbean, March 7 to 14, 2027. Royal Caribbean’s Allure of the Seas from Miami, with more than 5,600 guests. This is the big one.
- Southern Caribbean, March 27 to April 3, 2027. Virgin Voyages’ Valiant Lady from San Juan to Aruba, Curacao, Antigua and St. Maarten. See our guide to cruises from San Juan.
- Copenhagen to Stockholm, July 6 to 15, 2027. Oceania’s Marina, 1,200 guests, through the Baltic. Atlantis marks it sold out.
If you are searching for a gay cruise in 2026, the two November sailings are what is left of the year’s Atlantis calendar.
VACAYA: LGBT+ cruises for everyone
VACAYA is the choice if your group is mixed. It says its trips are for lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and queer travelers and their straight ally friends, and that it is for adults.
Its 2027 big-ship trip is a Caribbean week on Celebrity Beyond from February 14 to 21, 2027: a round trip from Fort Lauderdale to Puerto Plata, San Juan and Philipsburg, with more than 3,200 guests. VACAYA lists it as sold out with a waitlist (checked October 2026). The rest of its 2027 list is smaller-ship travel: an Arabian Nights cruise, a Europe river cruise, a Mediterranean cruise timed for the total solar eclipse, Antarctica and a Christmas markets river cruise.
Is Virgin Voyages a gay cruise?
No. Virgin Voyages says its sailings are not exclusively LGBTQ+ cruises. They are adults-only cruises where everyone is welcome. The confusion comes from two things.
- Its regular sailings are openly LGBTQ-friendly. Virgin says drag shows, Drag Bingo, its Scarlet Night party and pride-themed parties happen all year, and it cites Cruise Critic’s 2025 award for best line for LGBTQ+ travelers in the ocean category.
- Its ships are chartered for gay cruises. Atlantis Events uses Virgin ships for several trips a year, and Virgin also lists Big Gay Cruise sailings. On those weeks the whole ship is a gay cruise. On every other week it is a regular one.
That makes Virgin the easiest regular line to recommend here. Every guest is 18 or older, there are no formal nights, and the fare covers the restaurants, basic drinks and Wi-Fi. Read our Virgin Voyages guide and Virgin Voyages review, and our adults-only cruise guide for the alternatives.
Celebrity is the other line to look at. VACAYA chose a Celebrity ship for its 2027 Caribbean charter, and our Celebrity vs Virgin Voyages comparison sets the two side by side. For trips as a pair, see our cruises for couples guide. Traveling alone, see singles and solo cruises.
Gay cruise denied entry: what happened in Turkey and Egypt in 2026
In July 2026 an LGBTQ+ charter was refused by two countries on one trip. Cruise Industry News reported the following.
- Virgin Voyages’ Scarlet Lady, chartered to Atlantis Events, left Piraeus in Greece on July 5, 2026 on a ten-night cruise that was due to visit Greece, Croatia and Turkey.
- Local authorities in Turkey denied the ship access, and the calls at Istanbul and Kusadasi were cancelled before departure.
- Atlantis added Souda Bay in Crete and Alexandria in Egypt as replacements. Egyptian authorities then denied the ship entry for its Alexandria call on July 8, and tracking data showed it turning around after approaching the port.
- Mykonos, Santorini, Dubrovnik and Zadar stayed on the itinerary, and the cruise was due to end in Trieste on July 15.
What this means for booking:
- A dropped port is not a cancelled cruise. The report mentions no compensation for guests, so don’t count on a refund for a missed call.
- Look at the route before the ship. A charter that is marketed as an LGBTQ+ trip is more visible in port than a couple on a regular sailing. If one port is the reason you are going, check how that country treats LGBTQ visitors before you pay.
- Buy insurance when you book, and read what it says about missed ports.
- Compare the routes. The 2027 trips above sail the Caribbean, Spain and Portugal, Greece and the Baltic.
Charter or regular sailing: which to book
- Book a charter if the community aboard is the point of the trip. You give up choice of date, and you pay the charter company’s price.
- Book a regular sailing if dates, budget or itinerary matter more. On Virgin Voyages you can sail any week and still find drag shows on the schedule.
- Check the fare type. A charter is paid to the charter company on its terms, including its cancellation rules. Ask whether the cruise line’s loyalty perks and promotions apply before you book.
