Chantiers de l’Atlantique in France built Celebrity Beyond, and it entered service in April 2022 on a maiden voyage around Western Europe to Barcelona. It is a larger version of the original Edge design: 141,420 gross tons against 130,818 for Celebrity Edge and Apex, with about 340 more guests. Beyond was the first Celebrity ship with Starlink internet.

Who it suits

Couples and friends who want a Caribbean week with good restaurants, a quiet pool option and design-led spaces. This is the core Celebrity market, and Beyond is built around it.

Multigenerational families with teens or adult children. There’s a kids’ program, but no slides or water park. Families with older children who care more about food and pools than rides do well here.

Travelers moving up from a mainstream line. If you’ve done Royal Caribbean or Carnival and want something calmer without paying luxury prices, Beyond is a good first step. See how the lines compare in our best cruise lines ranking.

Who should look elsewhere: families with young children who want nonstop activities. Icon of the Seas or our family cruise picks are a better fit.

Standout features

• The Magic Carpet: a moving platform on the side of the ship. It moves between decks, working as an open-air lounge at the upper levels and as the tender platform when the ship anchors.
• Eden: a three-deck space at the stern with 270-degree windows, part bar, part restaurant, part performance space.
• Rooftop Garden: a top-deck outdoor space, which from November 2026 also hosts Bora, a Mediterranean restaurant with live music.
• The Retreat: the suite-only area, with its own sundeck, lounge and restaurant.
• Celebrity Pool Club: from November 2026, Celebrity is reworking the pool area with new venues, including Orange Peel Bar & Grille, a poolside American grill, and Tacos Del Sol.

Cabins to pick, cabins to avoid

Pick:

• Edge Stateroom with Infinite Veranda, midship, on a deck with cabins above and below. CruiseBooking.com suggests Decks 10 and 11 midship. The top half of the window lowers, so the balcony space becomes part of the room.
• Suites in The Retreat if your budget stretches: they come with the private sundeck, lounge and restaurant.
• Aft cabins if you want a wake view, knowing that the back of the ship picks up more vibration during docking and speed changes.

Avoid or think twice:

• Infinite Veranda cabins next to the Magic Carpet’s path. When the platform stops at your level, it can block the view and reduce privacy, and it makes mechanical noise when it moves.
• Cabins directly above Eden at the stern, where events can run late.
• Cabins under the pool deck, where crew move loungers early. CruiseBooking.com names the Deck 12 cabins directly below it. Also skip cabins next to elevator banks, which it flags on Decks 6 to 9.
• Very forward cabins if you’re prone to seasickness.

Dining and activities

Beyond has 32 restaurants, bars and lounges. The main dining rooms and the buffet are included in the fare, and some specialty restaurants carry a charge. Check the current list when you book, because the Pool Club rework from November 2026 changes the casual venues on the pool deck.

Entertainment leans toward live music, production shows in the theater and evening events in Eden and on the Rooftop Garden, rather than big-ticket attractions.

Where Celebrity Beyond sails in 2026–2027

Celebrity Beyond is based in South Florida year-round, sailing from Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades) and PortMiami:

• 7-night Caribbean cruises to ports such as Puerto Plata, the British Virgin Islands and St. Kitts and Nevis, with other weeks covering the Bahamas (including Perfect Day at CocoCay), Mexico and the Cayman Islands.
• Longer Caribbean sailings on some dates.
• A few short sailings, such as a 4-night Western Caribbean trip from Fort Lauderdale to Cozumel.

The departure port changes through the year. Sailings on sale when we checked left from Miami in October 2026 and August 2027 and from Fort Lauderdale in November 2026 and March 2027, so check the port for your date. Beyond also has a May 2028 Scandinavia sailing from Southampton on sale, so its Florida base isn’t permanent.

Sister ships

Beyond is the third of five Edge-class ships. Celebrity Edge (2018) and Celebrity Apex are slightly smaller. Celebrity Ascent (2023) and Celebrity Xcel (2025) are built to Beyond’s longer design, and a sixth ship, Celebrity Xcite, is due in 2028. The layout is close across the class, so choose on dates and route.
