The fleet

Oceania runs two sizes of ship today. The small Regatta-class ships reach ports the bigger ones can’t; the mid-size O-class and Allura-class ships have more restaurants and more to do on sea days. The small-ship side is shrinking: Regatta left the fleet in August 2026, Sirena has been sold and sails for Oceania only until spring 2028, and Nautica is due to be rebuilt as Oceania Aurelia, with far fewer guests, from late 2027. The first of the new, larger Sonata-class ships, Oceania Sonata, is due in August 2027.

Where Oceania sails by season

• Spring to autumn: the Mediterranean, the Greek Isles and Northern Europe. This is the core of the program and where most first-time Oceania guests start. Which ship sails where changes each year, so check the ship before you book.

• Northern winter: the Caribbean, Panama Canal and South America, plus Asia, Australia and the South Pacific.

• All year: long “grand voyages” and an annual around-the-world voyage.

What’s included and what’s extra

Included in every fare: meals in all restaurants, including the specialty restaurants that cost extra on most other lines, plus unlimited Wi-Fi, shipboard gratuities, soft drinks, specialty coffees, laundry and the usual pools, gym and daytime activities. Oceania calls this “Your World Included.”

Your choice of one extra: on bookings made since September 17, 2025, you pick either wine and beer with lunch and dinner or a shore excursion credit. What’s in the fare has changed several times in recent years, so check the fare details before you compare prices with another line.

Oceania Cruises FAQ

Is Oceania an adults-only cruise line?

Yes, for new bookings. Since January 7, 2026, Oceania only accepts guests who are 18 or older at embarkation. Reservations made before that date that include younger travelers are still honored, so you may see a few teenagers on sailings through the transition.

Who owns Oceania Cruises?

Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, which also owns Norwegian Cruise Line and Regent Seven Seas Cruises.

What is the Oceania dress code?

Oceania describes its dress code as “country club casual.” There are no formal nights, and jackets and ties are not required, though jeans, shorts and T-shirts are not allowed in the main and specialty restaurants in the evening.

Does Oceania include drinks and tips?

Tips, yes: shipboard gratuities are in every fare, along with specialty dining, Wi-Fi and soft drinks. Alcohol is partly included: you choose between wine and beer with lunch and dinner or a shore excursion credit. A full drinks package costs extra.

Which Oceania ship is best?

For most people, Allura or Vista: they’re the newest, have the most restaurants and the most modern cabins. Choose Insignia, Nautica or Sirena when the itinerary includes small ports the bigger ships can’t reach. From August 2027, the new Oceania Sonata will be the largest ship in the fleet.
