Bimini cruise port: the pier, the beach clubs and what to do

Bimini cruise port is the Resorts World Bimini Cruise Port, a single pier on North Bimini in the Bahamas where ships dock right at a resort, so there are no tenders. Most calls are Virgin Voyages ships stopping at the adults-only Beach Club at Bimini; on other lines the day usually means the resort's beach and pools, or a boat trip to the Sapona wreck.

The Bimini cruise port

Bimini is the closest part of the Bahamas to the US: two main islands, North and South Bimini, about 50 miles off the Florida coast. Ships use one place, the Resorts World Bimini Cruise Port on North Bimini. It is a single pier, built by the resort’s owner, that can take ships up to Royal Caribbean’s Oasis class. The first ship to dock there was Crystal Serenity, on July 4, 2021.

Passengers walk straight off the ship onto the pier. The pier belongs to a 750-acre resort, so the port area is the resort, not a town. Alice Town, the island’s tourism hub, is a separate stop.

The Beach Club at Bimini (Virgin Voyages)

Most ships at the Bimini pier are Virgin Voyages ships, and for their guests the day is about one place: The Beach Club at Bimini. It sits on the shore of North Bimini, run in partnership with Resorts World, a short bus ride from the pier.

  • Adults only, like the ships.
  • The pool: a large lagoon-style pool at the center, with a DJ-led pool party that builds through the afternoon.
  • Six bars around the club.
  • Included: Virgin says the Beach Club is part of most of its Caribbean itineraries. A new all-inclusive menu by chef Rashida Holmes rolls out by ship: Resilient Lady from October 12, 2026, Scarlet Lady from October 25, Brilliant Lady from November 15 and Valiant Lady from April 10, 2027.
  • Extra: reserved cabanas at the pool or the beach, listed from $650 for 8 hours (checked October 2026). Suite guests get a separate RockStar area.

If you want the pool party, stay at the club. If you would rather see the island, book one of Virgin’s shore trips or go into Alice Town and come back to the club for the afternoon.

Bimini cruise port things to do

You can spend the whole day at the resort or the Beach Club, but Bimini’s best sights are on and around the water. Most of them are boat trips, so book before you sail.

  • Resorts World Bimini day passAll day, next to the pierThe easiest choice on lines other than Virgin. The resort sells day passes to cruise guests; it has a beach, a lagoon-style pool, an adults-only rooftop pool, a casino and a spa. Jet skis, paddleboards and kayaks are rented on the beach.
  • SS Sapona wreckAbout 2 hours, by boatA ship that ran aground in 1926 and was used for a while to hide rum during Prohibition. Now a shallow snorkel and dive site. Virgin sells a Sapona swim and snorkel from $110 (checked October 2026).
  • Wild dolphinsAbout 3.5 hours, by boatBoat trips go out looking for wild dolphins off Bimini. Virgin lists a Wild Dolphin Safari from $190 (checked October 2026). Sightings are never certain.
  • Alice Town and Radio Beach2 to 3 hoursThe hub of North Bimini, with most of the hotels and restaurants on the island. Radio Beach is one of three continuous beaches on North Bimini.
  • Bimini RoadBoat tripAn underwater rock formation off the north coast that rumor ties to Atlantis. A snorkel or dive stop for the curious.
  • Healing HoleGuided tripMineral-rich water in a secluded spot on North Bimini, usually visited on a guided trip.

Getting around Bimini

  • The resort tram: Resorts World runs a tram around its own property.
  • The free bus: a shuttle runs about every 10 to 15 minutes between the cruise port and Fisherman’s Village.
  • Excursions: the boat trips above start with a pickup arranged by the operator or your cruise line.

Plan to be back at the pier well before all-aboard. Ships on the October 2026 schedule typically arrived between 8 and 9 am and left between 5 and 7 pm.

Bimini Bahamas cruise port: which cruises call

Virgin Voyages is the main user. Most of its sailings from Miami include a day at the Beach Club, often paired with Key West, Nassau or a Caribbean port, and its ships called at Bimini several times a week in October 2026. Virgin is an adults-only line; our adults-only cruise picks compare it with the other options.

Other lines call less often. The October 2026 schedule also showed Royal Caribbean’s Jewel of the Seas, Celebrity’s Celebrity Reflection and Celebrity Summit, and Carnival Sunshine. Celebrity Summit’s winter 2026–27 route from Tampa pairs Bimini with Key West and Nassau. Royal Caribbean also uses Bimini on some Bahamas trips from Baltimore. For the other big Bahamas stop, see our Nassau cruise port guide.

Bimini cruise port schedule

The port has no public schedule of its own. CruiseMapper keeps a month-by-month calendar of ship calls, and your cruise line’s app gives your arrival and all-aboard times. On days with two ships in, the resort day passes, cabanas and boat trips fill first.

Is Bimini safe for cruise passengers?

The US State Department rates the Bahamas at Level 2, “exercise increased caution” (renewed July 27, 2026). Most crime it describes is in Nassau and Freeport. It also warns that commercial boating is poorly regulated in the Bahamas and that there have been sexual assaults by jet ski operators. Book jet skis and boat trips through the resort or your cruise line rather than from independent operators.

Bimini cruise port FAQ

Do cruise ships dock or tender in Bimini?

They dock. The Resorts World Bimini pier takes ships up to Oasis class, and you walk off onto the pier.

What is there to do in the Bimini cruise port?

At the pier itself: Resorts World Bimini, with a beach, pools, a casino and day passes for cruise guests. Virgin Voyages guests go to The Beach Club at Bimini. Further out: snorkeling at the Sapona wreck, wild dolphin trips, Alice Town and Radio Beach.

Can you go to the Beach Club at Bimini if you're not on Virgin Voyages?

The Beach Club is Virgin Voyages’ own club for its guests. On other lines, the comparable day is a Resorts World Bimini day pass, right next to the pier.

Which cruise lines go to Bimini?

Mostly Virgin Voyages, from Miami. Royal Caribbean, Celebrity and Carnival ships also called in October 2026. Check the itinerary of the sailing you are looking at.

Do I need a passport for a cruise to Bimini?

On a closed-loop cruise that starts and ends at the same US port, US citizens can usually sail with a birth certificate and a government-issued photo ID. You would need a passport to fly home if you had to leave the ship in the Bahamas, so bring one if you can.
