November is quiet and good value before the holiday peak: the Caribbean calms down as hurricane season ends, the Mexican Riviera and Hawaii are in season, and fall repositioning cruises pass through the Panama Canal. Thanksgiving week (November 25, 2027) is the exception.

Holidays and school breaks
Thanksgiving is Thursday, November 25, 2027. Thanksgiving-week sailings sell out and cost more than the rest of the month, though less than Christmas week; our Christmas and New Year cruise guide compares the two. Veterans Day is Thursday, November 11. The first three weeks of the month are school-term weeks, so few children are aboard and fares are lower than in the holiday weeks.
The Caribbean in November
November is a good month for the Caribbean: calmer than the fall, with fair prices until the holidays. The Atlantic hurricane season officially runs to November 30, but NOAA’s National Hurricane Center puts most activity between mid-August and mid-October, so the risk in November is low and falling. A late storm can still swap a port.
Ships that spent the summer in Europe and Alaska are back in the region. From San Juan, Disney Wish and Disney Fantasy sail 5- to 7-night Southern and Eastern Caribbean trips in fall 2027. On the East Coast, Carnival Miracle joins Carnival Pride in Baltimore from November 20, 2027.
Mexico, Hawaii and the Panama Canal
The Mexican Riviera season is in full swing in November, and Mexico is heading into its dry season. The Eastern Pacific hurricane season also ends on November 30, and NOAA says most of its storms occur between late June and early October. Virgin Voyages’ Brilliant Lady sails 7-night Mexican Riviera trips from Los Angeles in November 2027, and Disney sails Baja and Mexican Riviera trips from San Diego in fall 2027.
Hawaii round trips from the West Coast are in their main season. November is the first month of humpback whale season, which NOAA’s marine sanctuary dates from November through April. It is also the start of the wetter half of the year, mostly on the windward sides of the islands.
Fall repositioning cruises use the Panama Canal from September to November. They are good value per night, but it’s still the wet season in Panama. Virgin Voyages has an adults-only full transit on Brilliant Lady between Los Angeles and Miami in November 2027.
Bermuda and the Mediterranean in November
A cruise to Bermuda in November is possible but late. The island’s cruise season runs from spring to November, and few ships are left by then. Go To Bermuda gives November averages of 75°F in the air and 72°F in the water, down from 80°F and 78°F in October. That is sightseeing weather more than beach weather, and the crossing from the Northeast can be rough.
The Mediterranean season has mostly ended. A few ships stay in the western Mediterranean and the Canary Islands, and Princess keeps ships in Europe until November 2027. Expect rain and short days, and far fewer people at the big sights. What to wear on a Mediterranean cruise in November: layers, a waterproof jacket, closed shoes with grip for wet cobbles, and one warmer layer for evenings on deck. Leave the beach kit at home.
Disney and Carnival cruises in November 2027
Disney Cruise Line switches from Halloween to its Very Merrytime sailings in November and December 2027, with holiday decorations, a tree lighting and Santa. Our Disney 2027 guide lists where each ship is based.
Carnival sails year round from most of its home ports, so the choice in November is mostly Caribbean, Bahamas and short Baja trips. Its fares are usually among the lowest of the big lines.
