Holidays and school breaks
Easter Sunday is March 28, 2027, so Easter week and the spring breaks that line up with it land at the end of the month. School spring breaks are set district by district and spread across March and early April, which keeps family-friendly lines and short sailings busy for most of the month. Hawaii and the Panama Canal
Humpback whales are in Hawaiian waters from November through April, so a March Hawaii cruise still falls inside whale season; see our Hawaii cruise guide. March is also one of the last full months of the dry season for a Panama Canal cruise, and the Caribbean stays dry and settled before the Atlantic hurricane season opens on June 1.
