Silversea cruises 2026–2027: ships, fares and who it suits
Silversea cruises suit travelers who want a small all-suite ship with a butler, open bar, gratuities and Wi-Fi in the fare, and it is the strongest luxury line for expeditions to Antarctica, the Arctic and the Galapagos. Skip it if you expect shore excursions to be included on a regular ocean cruise: on those sailings they cost extra or come as a credit, depending on the fare you pick. Flights are not part of any fare.
Book it if
- You want butler service without paying for a top suite. Silversea includes a butler in every suite category.
- You're planning Antarctica, the Arctic or the Galapagos and want luxury on board. Expedition fares include the landings and excursions.
- You like small ships. The largest two carry 728 guests and most carry fewer than 600.
Skip it if
- You take a tour in every port and want them all in the fare. On ocean cruises Regent Seven Seas includes them; Silversea does not.
- You're traveling with children who need kids' clubs and pools built for them. These are quiet, adult-oriented ships.
- You're comparing on the headline fare. Silversea is priced with the most expensive lines at sea.

Silversea cruise ships
Silversea runs two fleets under one name. The classic ships sail the ports you would expect of a luxury line, from the Mediterranean to Alaska. The expedition ships carry Zodiac boats and an expedition team to places with no cruise pier at all. Every room on every ship is a suite, so there are no inside cabins to choose or avoid.
- Silver RayThe newest ship. With Silver Nova it carries the main Mediterranean and Caribbean program in 2027 and 2028.
- Silver NovaThe first of the two largest ships, at about 55,000 gross tons. The pick if you want the most space on board.
- Silver DawnSails the 2027 world cruise and the 60-day Grand Voyage Mediterranean 2027.
- Silver MoonOne of Silversea's two Alaska ships in 2026 and 2027.
- Silver MuseSails Silversea's first summer season in Japan and the Grand Voyage Asia 2028.
- Silver SpiritA mid-sized ship. Choose it for the route, not the hardware.
- Silver WhisperThe second Alaska ship, and one of the two smallest classic ships.
- Silver ShadowSister to Silver Whisper. Pick it if you want a classic ship of under 400 guests.
- Silver EndeavourThe newest expedition ship. Sails the Arctic and Antarctica, including the Antarctica fly-cruise program.
- Silver OriginBuilt for the Galapagos, and the smallest ship in the fleet.
- Silver WindPolar voyages to the Arctic, Greenland and Antarctica.
- Silver CloudWarm-water expeditions to Japan, Southeast Asia and the Great Barrier Reef in the 2027 to 2028 season.
What a Silversea cruise fare includes
On board, the answer is the same whatever you paid. Silversea’s own list covers butler service in every suite, champagne, wines, beers and spirits in the bars and in your suite, a minibar restocked daily, the restaurants, in-suite breakfast, Wi-Fi and gratuities. Silversea says it is the only cruise line to include a butler in every suite and category.
The difference between fares is what happens ashore. Since September 11, 2025, Silversea has sold three fare types:
- All-Inclusive Plus. On classic ocean voyages it adds a shore excursion credit, sized by the length and region of the cruise. On expedition voyages it includes the landings, shore excursions and expedition gear, plus hotel nights and in-country flights where the trip needs them. The deposit is fully refundable.
- All-Inclusive. Ocean voyages only. You get the full onboard offering and buy excursions one by one, before the cruise or on board. The deposit is non-refundable.
- Last-Minute. Offered on selected voyages within five months of departure, at a lower price, with full payment due at booking and no refund of the deposit.
Flights and airport transfers are not in any of the three. Silversea sells them as add-ons, or you can book your own.
This is the main thing to check when you compare Silversea with Regent Seven Seas, whose standard fare includes unlimited excursions. Our all-inclusive cruise guide sets the luxury lines side by side.
Where Silversea sails in 2026 and 2027
Silversea’s 2027 to 2028 collection has 414 voyages between February 2027 and May 2028: 271 on the classic ships and 143 expeditions. Ship assignments below come from the line’s announcements and can change.
Silversea Alaska cruises
Silversea’s 2027 Alaska season has 29 voyages on Silver Moon and Silver Whisper, from May 27 to early September. The ships sail one way between Vancouver and Seward, the port for Anchorage, including seven-night routes through the Inside Passage with calls such as Juneau, Skagway, Ketchikan and Sitka. The 2026 season, which ended on September 3, ran 30 voyages on the same two ships.
Glacier viewing is at Hubbard Glacier and Icy Bay, with Tracy Arm and Sawyer Glacier on some 2027 sailings. Silversea is not one of the lines authorized to enter Glacier Bay National Park. If that matters, see our best cruise lines for Alaska ranking and the Alaska cruise guide. Because the cruises are one way, you fly into one city and home from another. Our Vancouver cruise port guide covers the southern end.
Silversea Mediterranean cruises
Silver Nova and Silver Ray sail 57 Mediterranean voyages between them in the 2027 to 2028 collection. Silver Dawn’s Grand Voyage Mediterranean 2027 strings 48 destinations into 60 days across the western Mediterranean, the Greek islands and the Adriatic. For the season and the ports, see our Europe cruise guide and, for Silversea cruises in Greece, the Greece cruise guide.
Silversea Antarctica cruises and the Arctic
The collection lists 43 Antarctica voyages on Silver Wind and Silver Endeavour. Of those, 32 are fly cruises on Silver Endeavour, which replace the sea crossing from South America with a flight. Silversea has also been developing its own hotel in Puerto Williams, Chile, The Cormorant at 55 South, as a base for those trips. In the north, the two ships sail 20 Arctic and Greenland voyages, some reaching 80 degrees north. Our Northern Europe cruise guide covers Iceland and Norway on larger ships.
Silversea Caribbean cruises
The Caribbean is a small program: 11 sailings in the Caribbean and Central America on Silver Nova and Silver Ray. If the Caribbean is the point of the trip, you’ll find far more choice on other lines in our Caribbean cruise guide.
Silversea Asia cruises and Australia
Silver Muse sails Silversea’s first summer season in Japan, six sailings that can be combined, and then the 51-day Grand Voyage Asia 2028. Silver Cloud runs expeditions in Japan, Southeast Asia and along the Great Barrier Reef, and the expedition program also takes in Australia’s Kimberley coast, Indonesia, the Philippines and Polynesia.
World cruise and grand voyages
Silver Dawn sails the 2027 world cruise, which we compare with the other lines in our world cruise guide. Silver Ray follows in 2028 with a 77-day voyage around South America.
How Silversea compares
- Against Regent Seven Seas: both include drinks, gratuities and Wi-Fi. Regent includes excursions on every ocean cruise, and Silversea includes a butler in every suite and has an expedition fleet, which Regent does not.
- Against Seabourn: the closest match, with small all-suite ships and drinks and gratuities in the fare. Choose between them on itinerary and date.
- Against Viking: Viking costs less, includes one excursion per port and limits drinks to meals.
- In our rankings: Silversea is the luxury expedition pick in our best luxury and small-ship cruises ranking.
Silversea fares and sample sailings
Before you compare, check which of the three fare types a quoted price is for, and add flights. A Last-Minute fare can look much cheaper than an All-Inclusive Plus fare on the same sailing because it carries no excursion credit and no refund.
