Seabourn cruises 2026–2027: ships, fares and who it suits

Seabourn cruises suit travelers who want a small all-suite ship where the restaurants, drinks, caviar and tips are already in the fare, and it is one of the few luxury lines allowed into Glacier Bay in Alaska. Skip it if you want shore excursions included on an ordinary ocean cruise: on Seabourn they cost extra, and so do flights. The fleet is down to five ships after two were sold, so there are fewer dates to choose from than on Silversea or Regent.

Book it if

  • You want Alaska on a luxury ship with Glacier Bay on the route. Seabourn Encore sails there from May to September 2027.
  • You want an expedition to Antarctica or the Arctic on a ship of 264 guests with Zodiac outings in the fare.
  • You like to pay once. Dining, premium spirits and fine wines, and an in-suite bar are included.

Skip it if

  • You take a tour in every port and want them in the fare. Regent Seven Seas includes them on ocean cruises; Seabourn does not.
  • You need a particular week. With three ocean ships, most regions get a single ship for the season.
  • You want water slides, big shows and a choice of pools. Ships this size don't have them.

Seabourn cruise ships

Seabourn is a small fleet, and it has been getting smaller. Seabourn Odyssey left in 2024 and Seabourn Sojourn finished its last Seabourn voyage in Vancouver on May 15, 2026. Both were sold to Japan’s Mitsui Ocean Cruises. That leaves five ships: three for classic ocean cruises and two built for expeditions. Every room on all five is a suite.

  • Seabourn Ovation2018, about 600 guestsThe newest ocean ship and sister to Seabourn Encore. It sails the Mediterranean in summer 2027, including the solar eclipse voyage.
  • Seabourn EncoreIn service since 2017, about 600 guestsThe Alaska ship. At about 41,900 gross tons, it and Ovation are the largest ships built for Seabourn.
  • Seabourn Quest2011, 450 guestsThe smallest and oldest ocean ship, at about 32,300 gross tons. Pick it if you want the fewest fellow guests on an ocean cruise.
  • Seabourn Venture2022, 264 guestsThe line's first purpose-built expedition ship: polar class, about 23,000 gross tons, with 24 Zodiac boats and two six-passenger submarines.
  • Seabourn Pursuit2023Sister ship to Seabourn Venture, sailing the same mix of polar and warm-water expeditions.

What a Seabourn cruise fare includes

Seabourn’s own list is short and clear: all dining venues are complimentary, premium spirits and fine wines are complimentary, caviar is complimentary, and each suite has welcome Champagne and a stocked in-suite bar. Independent guides add that Wi-Fi and gratuities are in the fare too, and that tipping is not expected.

What you pay for:

  • Flights. Seabourn sells air as an add-on, or you book your own.
  • Shore excursions on ocean cruises. They are sold one by one. This is the main difference from Regent Seven Seas, whose standard fare includes excursions.
  • Spa and salon treatments, and the rarest wines and spirits on the list.
  • On expedition ships: the submarine dives and kayaking. The guided Zodiac rides, nature walks and hikes led by the expedition team are included.

Where Seabourn sails in 2026 and 2027

Seabourn’s 2027 to 2028 program has 111 departures on 72 itineraries, calling at 369 ports in 71 countries. Ship assignments below come from the line’s announcements and can change.

Seabourn Alaska cruises

Seabourn Encore sails Alaska and British Columbia from May to September 2027: 18 departures on five itineraries of 7 to 15 days, with 15 ports. Every voyage includes scenic cruising in at least one of Glacier Bay, Hubbard Glacier, Tracy Arm or Endicott Arm. An optional Denali Experience adds eight days in Alaska’s interior before selected cruises.

The 2026 season, Encore’s first in Alaska, ended on September 18. For 2028 Seabourn has opened 16 departures of 7 to 21 days.

Two things set a Seabourn Alaska cruise apart from other luxury ships. Seabourn is one of the six operators the National Park Service allows into Glacier Bay, although not every sailing goes in, so check the itinerary. And its Ventures by Seabourn program puts an expedition team on a classic ship, with kayak and Zodiac outings sold as optional excursions. See our best cruise lines for Alaska ranking and the Alaska cruise guide.

Seabourn Mediterranean cruises and Northern Europe

Seabourn Ovation’s 2027 Mediterranean season includes a 14-day voyage leaving Monte Carlo on July 23, 2027, timed to put the ship in the path of the total solar eclipse on August 2 before it ends in Dubrovnik. The same program has an 11-day Baltic route and summer sailings in Northern Europe. For seasons and ports, see our Europe cruise guide, the Greece cruise guide and the Northern Europe cruise guide.

Seabourn Antarctica cruises and expeditions

Seabourn Venture and Seabourn Pursuit sail 49 expedition voyages between March 2027 and April 2028, from 8 to 94 days. They cover Antarctica, the Arctic, the South Pacific and Australia’s Kimberley coast. The longest is a 94-day voyage from the Arctic to Antarctica that Seabourn calls its first Pole-to-Pole Grand Expedition.

A Seabourn Venture cruise is a different product from the ocean ships. Landings are by Zodiac, an expedition team runs the days, and the ship is built to polar class standards. If you are weighing it against the other luxury expedition fleet, see our Silversea guide.

Seabourn Caribbean cruises

The Caribbean is a winter program. The most recent season Seabourn has announced is winter 2028 to 2029, with ten itineraries of 7 to 12 days from December 28, 2028 to March 29, 2029. Seabourn Ovation sails between Bridgetown in Barbados and Philipsburg in Sint Maarten, and Seabourn Quest sails round trips from Miami. The routes favor small harbors such as St. Barts, Bequia and Montserrat, and include a beach day at Carambola Beach on St. Kitts where the crew serves caviar and Champagne in the surf.

For this winter and next, check the dates on sale. Our Caribbean cruise guide covers the regions and the best months.

Japan, Canada and New England, and long voyages

The ocean ships also sail Japan and Canada and New England in the 2027 to 2028 program. Our snapshot also has long Seabourn Quest voyages from Long Beach in May 2027, shown in the table below. Our world cruise guide compares the lines that sell full world cruises.

How Seabourn compares

  • Against Regent Seven Seas: both include drinks, Wi-Fi and gratuities. Regent adds excursions on every ocean cruise. Seabourn has expedition ships and Glacier Bay, which Regent does not.
  • Against Silversea: the closest match. Silversea has twelve ships to Seabourn’s five and a butler in every suite. Choose between them on itinerary and date.
  • Against Viking: Viking costs less, includes one excursion per port and limits included drinks to meals.
  • In our rankings: Seabourn is a pick in our best luxury and small-ship cruises ranking and one of the upscale lines named in our best cruise lines ranking.

Seabourn cruise deals and sample sailings

Cheap Seabourn cruises don’t really exist: this is one of the most expensive lines at sea. Three checks help when you compare Seabourn cruise deals.

  • Price per night. Voyage lengths run from a week to three months, so divide the fare by the nights before you compare two sailings.
  • What the offer adds. See whether a promotion lowers the fare or adds extras, and compare the total, not the headline.
  • Flights. They are not in the fare, so add them before you compare with a line that bundles air.
