MSC World America was built by Chantiers de l’Atlantique in Saint-Nazaire, France, and delivered in March 2025. It sailed its first Caribbean cruise from Miami in April 2025. It is the second World-class ship after MSC World Europa and runs on liquefied natural gas. The double-occupancy figure above is how most lines count guests; with every upper berth filled, the ship can carry about 6,760.

The World-class design is easy to spot from the dock. The stern is open, with two towers of balcony cabins on either side forming a Y shape around a central outdoor space. High on the starboard side at the back, the Cliffhanger swing reaches out over the water, and the Spiral dry slide winds down through 11 decks. At the front, the bow has a distinctive G shape designed for fuel efficiency.
Who it suits

Suite buyers on a budget. The MSC Yacht Club, a keycard-only area with 24-hour butler and concierge service, its own restaurant, lounge, pool and sundeck, costs far less than a luxury line.

- Cliffhanger: a swing ride that lifts riders about 164 feet above the sea on the starboard side.
- The Spiral: a dry slide that drops 11 decks.
- Jungle Pool: a pool in a botanic-garden setting under a retractable glass roof, useful on a windy or rainy day.

Cabins to pick, cabins to avoid
MSC World America has 19 stateroom types. About two-thirds of cabins have step-out balconies.
Pick:
- Infinite Ocean View cabins, where a panoramic sliding window turns into a glass balcony. You get a sea view and a feeling of outdoor space for less than a full balcony.
- Connecting family staterooms if you’re traveling with kids or grandparents and want two rooms joined by an internal door.
- MSC Yacht Club suites, from standard suites up to Duplex and Owner’s Suites, if the budget allows.
Avoid or think twice:
- Promenade View Balcony cabins if you want sea views or quiet: they overlook the busy interior promenade, not the ocean.
- Cabins directly below the pool decks or near the Cliffhanger and slide, which can be noisy during the day.
- Forward and aft cabins if you’re prone to seasickness. Midship on a deck with cabins above and below is the calmest choice.
Dining and activities
The four main dining rooms (La Foglia, Esagono, Hexagon and Bubbles) and the buffets are included. The specialty restaurants cost extra: Kaito Sushi Bar, Kaito Teppanyaki, HOLA! Tacos & Cantina, Eataly, Butcher’s Cut and Paxos Greek Taverna. MSC’s specialty dining packages can be used at participating venues, and the Jean-Philippe chocolate café charges for its desserts.

MSC World America is based in Miami year round on 7-night round trips, alternating two routes:

Sister ships
World America is one of MSC’s World-class ships. MSC World Europa (2022) is the first and sails the Mediterranean. MSC World Asia debuts in the Mediterranean in December 2026, and MSC World Atlantic is due in November 2027 to sail from Port Canaveral. More are on order through 2031.
